Personal Statement & Supplemental Essays
Your essay is the best way to show the university your personality and way of thinking. Instead of saying things anyone else could say, write something unique. A good way to check your essay: ask yourself, can anyone else write the exact same thing? If the answer is no, then your essay should be more personal and deeper.
Activities & Honors
The activities section shows your direction in life. It helps the committee see if you’re a hardworking student who will make a positive impact at the university. They care more about your description of the activity than the activity itself. What matters most is why you did it and what value it added.
Academic Grades & Test Scores
For international students, high school grades are not always compared directly, since schools can vary in grading standards. Some schools give very high grades while others are stricter. That’s why the main requirement is simply to keep your grades above 80–85% as a minimum.
